Frequently asked questions
Which formats are supported?
ArchiveX extracts ZIP, RAR (including RAR5) and 7Z archives, including password-protected and multi-part RAR archives.
It creates ZIP archives, optionally protected with AES-256 encryption. It does not create RAR or 7Z archives.
How do I open an archive from another app?
In the Files app (or Mail, Safari and others), tap Share and choose ArchiveX. You can also tap "Open Archive" in ArchiveX.
Where are my extracted files?
In the Files tab of ArchiveX. The same folder is visible in Apple's Files app under On My iPhone (or iPad) › ArchiveX.
How do I open a multi-part RAR?
Put all parts (.part1.rar, .part2.rar, …) in the same folder, or select all parts together in "Open Archive".
My password-protected ZIP won't open in the Files app.
ZIP files protected with AES-256 by ArchiveX can be opened in ArchiveX and most desktop archive tools, but not by Apple's built-in unzip.
How do I remove ads or restore my purchase?
Settings › Premium › Remove Ads is a one-time purchase (not a subscription). On a new device, tap Restore Purchases on the same screen.
